In 1986 Jeff Adler joined Waste Management in Southfield, MI as an assistant to the Region Controller, Ed Bacom.

Since then he has been in various senior financial management positions in the solid waste industry with publicly traded (Waste Management, Laidlaw Waste Systems, USA Waste, Casella Waste Systems) and privately held (Automated Recycling Technologies) companies.

• Developing operational statistics to evaluate productivity
• Evaluating existing contracts for profitability and possible opportunities to revise terms to increase profit
• Tracking accounts receivable and establishing effective controls to improve collection results and cash flow
• Developing budgeting and forecasting templates
• Evaluating various methods of transportation and disposal for transfer stations including: loose vs. baled; truck vs. rail
• Reviewing vehicle maintenance software and assisting with implementation
• Installing, training and designing general ledger accounting systems
